Getting here
The fjord villages near Folgefonna National Park offer good and varied accommodation. There are historic hotels and charming guesthouses, campsites in beautiful nature, cabins and rooms in private homes. You can choose what suits your wishes and travel budget.
You can get to the Folgefonna peninsula by car, bus or express boat.
At the Visitor centre Folgefonna National Park in Rosendal you can get more information about the history, activities and traveling in the national park. Organized tourism began as early as 1833 when tourists went by foot and horse-drawn sledges over the glacier from Sundal to Tokheim in Odda. This is still a popular route, and can be booked throughout the summer.

Bergen – Rosendal – Folgefonna
The Hardangerfjord Express sails twice a day from Bergen, via Os and Malkenes (Tysnes) to Rosendal. www.rodne.no
If you are going on to Sundal (Bondhusdalen) or Odda, there is a corresponding bus to most ports of call.

Bergen – Norheimsund – Herand – Folgefonna
During the summer season you can go on a day trip from Bergen to the summer ski centre at Folgefonna (Jondal). The trip takes you by bus from Bergen to Norheimsund, a boat across the fjord to Herand and then a bus up to the summer ski centre, where you can go glacier hiking or skiing.
